After reframing authenticity in two distinct forms of song craft, multi-Platinum artist Aaron Lewis has proven his soul-scouring passion – he never hides from his own blunt truth . A proud North-country native who’s dagger-like vocals have cut a million hearts, the cross-genre star first broke out as the gutsy, gravel-voiced front man of the Y2K era alt-rock band Staind, bringing serious confessional craftsmanship to what was otherwise a carnival of chaos. But rural roots are tough to break, and after a multi-decade, multi-Platinum run, Lewis went on to an unheard-of second act.
Now over 15 years into a hard-touring hard-country solo career, Lewis is one of very few artists in history to bring his original audience along for the ride. With uncensored honesty at the core of his success, the singer-songwriter boasts two No. 1 Billboard Country Album debuts – Town Line (2011) and Sinner (2016) – plus a Platinum collaboration with heroes George Jones and Charlie Daniels (“Country Boy”), and a Gold- certified Billboard No. 1 with 2021’s “Am I The Only One.” Over 5.7 billion career streams have now followed. But with his sixth solo country album, List of Things to Quit, the fearless firebrand tackles growth and accountability, like only he can. Ten sharp-tongued songs pair his potent lyricism with a clear-eyed set of country-boy convictions, with gritty throwback twang and dusky depth giving his words their proper sonic weight.
