- ➤ Beaumont ISD is entering a new phase as a TEA-appointed conservator and board of managers take control after the state rejected the district’s attempt to block a takeover. The conservator will charge $250 per hour — and travel costs — that the district must cover per state rules. KFDM
- ➤ TEA officials say the takeover of Beaumont ISD is needed after two schools earned F ratings for five years. Andrew Kim is named conservator (earning $250 per hour plus $50 for travel) to support the district until a new board is chosen for the 2026–2027 school year. FOX 4 Beaumont

- ➤ Construction on a new 14,800 sqft funeral home will begin Feb. 1 at 3510 Sarah St in south Beaumont and is set to finish on Dec. 30.
