- ➤ Firefighters are battling a house fire off Boondocks Road in south Jefferson County where smoke is visible across the area and first responders have knocked down half the flames while the sheriff's office handles traffic with no injuries reported. FOX 4 Beaumont

- ➤ Historic McFaddin-Ward House will host its first lecture of the New Year tonight. The lecture, "Beyond Belief: The Transformation of Saint Anthony Cathedral Basilica," will begin at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. and will also be available online. KFDM

- ➤ Texas officials are on high alert after eight new screwworm cases were confirmed near the border in Tamaulipas, bringing the total to 11. They have increased surveillance and trapping at livestock sites to guard the industry from the pest’s spread. 12 News Now
- ➤ Beaumont drivers are facing heavy traffic on U.S. 69 and I-10 this evening during rush hour. TxDOT maps show congestion near West Florida Street + West Cardinal Drive and near the Neches River, with traffic easing around Washington Boulevard and 13th Street. Beaumont Enterprise
