  • Beaumont Animal Care is seeking temporary foster homes for dogs housed in unheated outdoor kennels as a winter storm nears, while Warm Hands Warm Hearts ministry will open its shelter for people and pets tomorrow after 3 p.m.  KFDM

  • The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce announced its fifth annual Industry Advancement Expo set for Thursday, Feb. 12 at Doggett Ford Park Exhibit Hall from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. (Admission is free and refreshments are provided) as industry leaders and community members gather to network and view exhibitors and demonstrations.  FOX 4 Beaumont

  • Beaumont homeowners with exposed pipes are advised to insulate and drain water lines as a severe winter storm approaches. Robb Cahal from Conner Plumbing recommends turning off water in outdoor kitchens & avoiding dripping faucets to help prevent flooding and extra city strain.  KFDM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Beaumont Police Department announced that K-9 Drax passed away peacefully on Jan. 22 at age 6 after a recent health decline—he served with Officer Adam Little since July 2020 and helped confiscate narcotics.  FOX 4 Beaumont
  • This morning, drivers experienced backups on U.S. 69 from Delaware to Harrison Avenue and slowdowns on I-10 westbound downtown as rush-hour congestion took hold. Updated conditions will be provided later today.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • Beaumont ZIP transit service will face delays amid a predicted arctic blast from Friday through Monday, Jan. 26 — transit buses and paratransit vans will run with an hour delay on Monday. Riders are advised to check ZIP Rider Alerts for updated schedules.  Beaumont Enterprise
