TxDOT maps show that rush-hour slowdowns are building tonight on Beaumont highways—backup on I-10 westbound starts at the U.S. 90 interchange at Pine Street and congestion intensifies between Magnolia and Concord, while U.S. 69 sees heavier flow near West Cardinal Drive before easing by Corporate Drive.

A $182 million project to deepen the Sabine-Neches Waterway will expand the channel from 40 feet to 48 feet, enabling ports to handle larger ships and boosting job opportunities locally.

Construction will occur in phases, with the first segment set for 2028 and full work planned for 2029.

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas opened its new 40,000 sqft cancer center at 3180 College Street in Beaumont this past weekend during a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials.
