  • Southeast Texas restaurants may have less crawfish for Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras as Louisiana farms face labor shortages from visa delays and safety fears. Locals like Nederland's Touch of Cajun are recruiting workers (with far fewer than usual available) to boost the harvest.  12 News Now
  • Beaumont's West Park Marketplace will soon host a new Qdoba at Phelan Boulevard.   • A rare total lunar eclipse will turn the moon red from Mar. 2 to Mar. 3, with 58 minutes of totality during a 5-hour, 39-minute event. Beaumont residents can safely watch the eclipse with the naked eye starting about 75 minutes before totality, around 5:04 to 6:02 a.m. local time.  Beaumont Enterprise

  • Beaumont’s first Black city attorney, Sharae Reed, was celebrated during Black History Month and now inspires local youth and community leaders—she grew up in the city and credits her deep ties and faith for guiding her work.  12 News Now
  • County Judge Jeff Branick issued a burn ban today for unincorporated areas due to high fire danger from wildfires; the ban will last 10 days (it may be ended early or extended) and violators could face fines of up to $500 per offense.  KFDM
