The 3rd Annual Legacy Lounge Vision Board Edition will be held on Feb.

21 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at American Real Estate, 6622 Phelan Blvd as local professionals and families join for food+vision board supplies and a guest speaker to inspire personal growth.

AMSET will host its free Family Arts Day, Home is Where the Art Is, featuring hands-on activities inspired by current exhibitions and Black History Month.

The event takes place Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 500 Main Street for families to explore art.

Zydeco music enjoys renewed passion in Beaumont as local artists, including CJ Chenier (son of the genre's pioneer Clifton Chenier), celebrate Black History Month by sustaining century-old Creole and blues traditions.

They honor rich cultural roots with community concerts and cultural events around the region.

Beaumont ISD leadership presented year-to-date attendance data showing a slight decline to 91.2%, down from 91.4% last school year, with some schools in the 80s and others above 90; they stressed that regular attendance is critical for learning & state aid as the STAAR tests approach.
