A moderate crude oil leak was reported near an unused pipeline on Spur 136 in Port Neches at 8 a.m. Monday; emergency crews and industry response teams are containing the spill estimated at 100 barrels (4,200 gallons) while cleanup continues and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Starting April 1, Texans using the Lone Star Card will not be allowed to buy soda, candy, sugary drinks or energy drinks with SNAP funds as officials aim to promote healthier purchases and save taxpayer money; the change applies statewide.
