- ➤ Lab 2000 (a vinyl art studio) in Beaumont is hosting a free Kids Day event this Friday, March 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Phelan Blvd studio, offering face painting, giveaways, treats and a bounce house for creative fun. 12 News Now
- ➤ The South Texas State Fair is hosting a VIP contest with five winners who can win packs with badges, parking, rodeo tickets + SONIC swag. Winners will be named on The Morning Show from March 23 to 27, and the fair is held March 26 to April 5. KFDM
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Junior League of Beaumont has launched a project to build a sensory room at Sallie Curtis Elementary School to help students with diverse learning needs and reduce stress. The project (seeking community donations) started today and will run until early April. KFDM

- ➤ A moderate crude oil leak was reported near an unused pipeline on Spur 136 in Port Neches at 8 a.m. Monday; emergency crews and industry response teams are containing the spill estimated at 100 barrels (4,200 gallons) while cleanup continues and motorists are advised to avoid the area. - ➤ Starting April 1, Texans using the Lone Star Card will not be allowed to buy soda, candy, sugary drinks or energy drinks with SNAP funds as officials aim to promote healthier purchases and save taxpayer money; the change applies statewide. KFDM
