Families can enjoy Sonic Kids Day at the South Texas State Fair when children under 18 receive free admission from noon to 3 p.m. The Beaumont Sonic Drive-In Co-Op sponsors the promotion which also features carnival rides, animal exhibits, pony rides + a Bull Ride event at 5 p.m.

After an early morning send-off yesterday at Beaumont United and West Brook High School, the boys basketball teams will play for state championships at the Alamodome today; West Brook faces Frisco Heritage at 11 a.m. and Beaumont United competes against Mansfield Summit at 1 p.m.
