ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a go-kart crash in Port Neches on Thursday around 3 p.m. near Williams Avenue and 6th Street—an accident that left a man in critical condition and two children with serious but stable injuries—and the man was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital. KFDM

- ➤ Police have a new lead on the only unsolved homicide in Beaumont from 2024 involving Oran Trahan—a 29-year-old father of ten who was shot on April 7 at the Regent apartments parking lot while trying to save his children—and detectives say they are close to making an arrest while urging anyone with tips to call Crime Stoppers. - ➤ Retired teachers toured the McFaddin-Ward House grounds on March 19 as part of the month-long SOAR art event that displayed wooden butterflies painted by local artists + added a new interactive element with Mac the Caterpillar for community members to add painted rocks by the Visitors Center. - ➤ Beaumont remains measles-free as 279 cases have been reported in 11 Texas counties as of Tuesday, according to Health Director Kenneth Coleman. He said the MMR vaccine, which is 97% effective & is proven safe with no link to autism, is still given to most children even though parents can opt out for kindergarten. Beaumont Enterprise
