COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 77th Neches River Festival will start Friday, April 11th at 5:00 p.m. with a street party on Crockett Street—followed by a parade featuring more than 75 floats and local groups. Saturday's events include a coronation at Julie Rogers Theatre and a ball at the Civic Center to introduce the new Royal Court and honor local youth and river resources.  KFDM

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An SUV overturned on the Eastex Freeway service road near Target Tuesday morning at about 8:00 a.m.—all three occupants exited the vehicle safely—as Beaumont police, fire, and EMS responded to the scene.  KFDM

  • Yesterday, the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Women Entrepreneurs Network hosted a luncheon at the Holiday Inn on Walden where local businesswomen learned to dress for success + shopped at vendor tables showcasing women-owned boutiques. The workshop featured a live fashion show and professional talks + will return on June 17 with a focus on women's wellness.  Beaumont Enterprise

CRIME NEWS

  • Beaumont police are investigating a fatal shooting on Pipkin Street in the southeast part of town after a 64-year-old man was shot at about 6:30 p.m. and died in the hospital — detectives are now searching for four young males linked to the incident.  KFDM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On April 8, Beaumont mayoral candidates spoke at a Greater Beaumont Chamber forum and discussed plans to tackle crime and boost economic growth—emphasizing the need for stronger partnerships with local schools, churches, and Lamar University to solve the city’s challenges.  12 News Now

HEALTH NEWS

  • April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month and it highlights that testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men ages 15 to 35. Experts say about 1 in 250 men may develop the disease and that while cases have grown mostly with seminomas, the reasons remain unclear.  KFDM

SPORTS NEWS

  • Bridge City's coach Larry Sterling was named the Beaumont Enterprise 2025 Super Gold Girls Basketball Coach of the Year after his team earned a record 35 wins and reached the Class 4A-II state semifinals on April 8th.
