Tony Cavallaro from New York ended his two-year fight to reclaim his pet alligator, Albert, which wildlife officials seized for safety concerns and an expired permit.
Albert now stays at Gator Country near Beaumont and is receiving care to help his health (staff say his condition is serious).
Beaumont attorney Jo Ben Whittenburg was named as one of four recipients of the Texas Bar Foundation's Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award—honoring more than 50 years in the legal field.
He will be recognized at its Annual Dinner on June 12 at the Marriott Marquis in Houston.
