- ➤ Anderson Homes is moving its office downtown to 450 Bowie Street in a Neighborhood Empowerment Zone as it renovates a building for its home building and carpentry businesses. The company, which has been on Gladys for 23 years, will complete its $500,000 renovations by December 19 and has asked the Beaumont City Council for a three-year tax abatement—today the council votes on the agreement. - ➤ Giglio Distributing, founded on April 15, 1955 with one truck and a helper, will celebrate its 70th anniversary today by serving 57 counties in East Texas and Southwest Arkansas from its Beaumont and Tyler locations. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Beaumont Police Department warned residents that outstanding warrants must be resolved by April 23—when the Municipal Court will hold a warrant roundup—to avoid arrest if stopped; residents may visit or call the court between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or see a judge Monday-Friday at 8 a.m. and Monday-Thursday at 1 p.m. to pay their fines.
