  • Tanner Hunt Jr. passed away peacefully on April 6 surrounded by his three children at age 89 after a long career serving school districts and hosting a bluegrass radio show—he was a well-known figure in Beaumont. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 3 p.m. at his family home.  KFDM
  • Gift of Life will host a Ghostbusters-themed Champagne and Ribs fundraiser on April 24th at the Beaumont Civic Center — doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the event will start at 6:30 p.m. The fundraiser will benefit uninsured residents by supporting prostate cancer services and programs.  FOX 4 Beaumont

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • In Fannett, a serious crash involving two teen girls in a pickup truck at the busy intersection of Highway 365 and LaBelle Road spurred a local mother and daughter to launch a petition for a full traffic light—gaining over 300 signatures and urging TxDOT to review the intersection's safety measures.  12 News Now

  • Downtown Beaumont is set to welcome Hearsay Gastro Lounge at the former Suga's on Bowie Street—Landmark Hospitality Group said the new restaurant will open on May 5 at 11 a.m. with a Cajun and Creole-inspired menu and plans to honor the building’s legacy by naming its ballroom after the previous operator.  12 News Now

  • Candidates for Vidor ISD School Board have shared their statements in the voter guide.
