- ➤ On Wednesday, classmates joined Garrett LeJune’s children in Kirbyville as they released balloons with written messages to honor their father, who was killed in a crash several weeks ago in Silsbee — a counselor helped arrange the tribute for needed closure. KFDM
- ➤ The Southeast Texas Food Bank is facing major budget cuts that have forced it to lose two key food programs—cutting 900,000 pounds of food from its yearly supply—and to reduce senior assistance and SNAP funds, so food pantries are already giving out less. President and CEO Harvey Zernial said the food bank will face harder shortages this summer and will rely on community partners for support. 12 News Now

- ➤ Yesterday, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office arrested Paul Joseph LaGrone of Vidor at about 12:30 a.m. for criminal trespass linked to a deer feeder theft case—Michael Hetzel, 50, and Cheryle Nelson, 45, were arrested earlier for theft and trespass. KFDM
