Good morning, Beaumont.
A rare sighting occurred at Cattail Marsh when photographer Kenyan Guidry captured a mother alligator carrying 26 baby gators swimming nearby—showing the rich habitat along Hildebrandt Bayou and Willow Marsh Bayou.
On Saturday, a protest at Rogers Park in Beaumont was led by the Southeast Texas Impact Initiative with Indivisible and 50501 to mark 250 years since the start of the American Revolution.
Protesters wearing red, white, or blue called for stronger democracy and donated food to the Southeast Texas Food Bank (the event was held peacefully).
The Beaumont City Council formally recognized TxDOT's change to a 65 MPH limit on Eastex Freeway from the north city limits to the center of the LNVA Canal+ new signs already display the updated speed limit.
