- ➤ Camp Mystic in Beaumont has withdrawn its camp license application for this summer after last year's Hill Country flooding that killed 28 people + deeply hurt the local community, including eight-year-old Mary Grace Baker who was set to begin third grade, as investigations continue. KFDM

- ➤ Port Neches RiverFest, a five-day celebration of live music, racing, carnival rides, and family fun, kicked off Wednesday, Apr. 29 at Riverfront Park. Today, powerboat registration starts at 10:00 a.m. (live music and festive events continue) while races and competitions will occur tomorrow and Sunday. KFDM

- ➤ Following the TEA takeover, Beaumont ISD’s new superintendent Sandi Massey (a lifelong educator) introduced herself in a video and said she will visit campuses and invite public feedback during her first 30 days. - ➤ Anahuac has canceled Texas Gatorfest for September due to an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities linked to the chamber of commerce.
