- ➤ City council candidate LaDonna Sherwood celebrated her win with supporters at Nell’s Place on May 3, 2025—while Terry Preston Roy and trustee candidate Treva Johnson held their watch parties at different local spots as the race took a popularity-based turn. The events showed a busy night in ward III with live music, food and drinks marking a new chapter for Beaumont politics. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ Incumbent Mayor Roy West and former Mayor Robin Mouton will face off in a runoff on June 7 to decide who will lead Beaumont for the next two years. Mouton (40% of the vote) and West (30% of the vote) earned the top marks in the primary. 12 News Now
- ➤ Beaumont early voting numbers for the at-large city council race were released and showed AJ Turner leading (6,667 ballots) while Mike Williams, Audwin Samuel, and Brian Nepveux trailed (with 4,607, 4,156, and 1,240 votes respectively). Beaumont Enterprise
