- ➤ At Port Neches Riverfest on Sunday, 82-year-old Jerry Rinker's boat flipped and left him underwater for 2-4 minutes—rescue crews acted quickly to perform CPR and transport him to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital where he is now recovering. KFDM

- ➤ Jeanette Rideau has operated Reliable Copy Service (started in 1999) at 2498 Washington Blvd for over 25 years, offering low prices and personal service to both elderly individuals and young business owners. - ➤ Beaumont police seized about 20 kilograms of cocaine on April 30 during a traffic stop along I-10 eastbound near mile marker 846—detectives had reason to search a tractor-trailer carrying multiple vehicles and the investigation is ongoing. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ Beaumont Police are investigating a shooting on the 4600 block of Maddox St that was reported just before 1 p.m. today—officers from Beaumont Independent School District and Lamar Police responded while a brief lockout was put in place at Pietzsch MacArthur PK-8 Center. 12 News Now
- ➤ Beaumont authorities are seeking the public's help to locate convict Deanna Mitchell, who violated her probation conditions and is set to turn 25 on Saturday — anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement. FOX 4 Beaumont

- ➤ Residents in Labelle-Fannett are upset as Jefferson County commissioners plan to replace DD6 board member Chuck Kiker, a local rice farmer and drainage expert, with Precinct Two Commissioner Cary Erickson+ they claim his removal weakens the board's ability to address flooding issues. The commissioners will decide in a meeting today at 10:30 a.m. at the County Courthouse. KFDM
- ➤ Four new Beaumont City Council members will be sworn in on May 13 and plan to fix public safety, drainage, and economic issues. Council member Cory Crenshaw will work on the firefighters' contract, Joey Hilliard will address youth crime, LaDonna Sherwood will focus on reducing youth violence, and businessman Mike Williams will promote economic development—each aiming to bring a fresh start to the city. - ➤ Four new Beaumont council members — Joey Hilliard, LaDonna Sherwood, Cory Crenshaw, and Mike Williams — won their races on May 5 and will be sworn in on May 13. Hilliard won by 116 votes and said he will work on public safety and youth outreach while Sherwood plans to boost summer youth programs and Crenshaw and Williams will focus on key city issues.
