CRIME NEWS
- ➤ BPD has two suspects in custody on felony deadly conduct charges linked to six shootings with eight victims throughout the city since May 1 — detectives say most incidents were tied to an ongoing feud. KFDM
- ➤ Michael Cupp, the national president and founding member of the Brothers East Outlaw Motorcycle Gang from Baytown, was indicted by a grand jury on Wednesday for human trafficking—he is accused of profiting from prostitution by coordinating a manager who helped move a woman across cities, including Beaumont. 12 News Now
- ➤ Two 17-year-olds were indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury on Wednesday for the murder of 18-year-old Linny Nixon, who was fatally shot outside his apartment at Landmark Apartments on French Road after one teen admitted to using Nixon’s own gun in a pre-planned scheme to steal it (bonds were set at $850,000 and $800,000 after their surrender on Tuesday, April 29). - ➤ The Museum of the Gulf Coast will host Family Fun Day this Saturday, May 10th—featuring Sonny the Birdman from America's Got Talent—and education and tour coordinator Dana Howard said on the noon show that the event will offer fun activities for families. FOX 4 Beaumont

- ➤ Bernsen Law Firm claimed that Bechtel violated a court order by cutting a cable at Tank A near the Port Arthur LNG site after a scaffolding accident on April 29 tragically killed three workers—lawyers say this action compromised critical evidence for a wrongful death suit and led to an emergency hearing to enforce the Temporary Restraining Order. - ➤ Beaumont emergency management officials urged residents to prepare early for hurricane season by assembling safety kits + developing clear evacuation plans as the season starts on June 1. City partners are completing flood mitigation work including a new detention basin and underground culverts near Sarah Street to reduce flooding risks during major storms. 12 News Now

- ➤ On June 6 the Professional Football Capital of the World Museum Foundation will host a legends gala to honor football trailblazers. Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips will emcee the festivities, which continue on June 7 at 5 p.m. at the Beaumont Civic Center—bringing local fans together for a historic celebration.
