- ➤ Beaumont Police Department Officer Reginald Charles Boykin Jr. was arrested Saturday afternoon at 5:30 for Class C misdemeanor charges of open container, expired license plates and failure to display a driver’s license during Jeep Weekend on Bolivar Peninsula—he posted bond and is on paid administrative leave pending investigation. - ➤ Beaumont police are seeking help to locate armed fugitive Jarrick Augustine Jr.—a 28-year-old wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon who has evaded capture for three and a half months from his last known residence on Tulane Street, which is now vacant for renovations. KFDM

- ➤ Last month, over 100 community members gathered in Pear Orchard for a ceremony where the cemetery was dedicated as a Historic Texas Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. Jessie Davis of Historic Sacred Spaces said the new marker honors local sacrifices (including pioneers and veterans) and she will work to secure historic designations for four additional local cemeteries.
