- ➤ 12News is launching the Gator Cam today at Gator Country—located off Interstate 10 near Beaumont—to let viewers watch live alligator behavior at a park that houses over 450 reptiles including Big Al, a 94-year-old alligator. The live feed is available on the 12News website and on streaming devices such as Roku, FireTV, and AppleTV. 12 News Now

- ➤ Beaumont police are searching for a suspect and vehicle linked to a jugging that began at Chase Bank near Eastex Freeway and ended with a robbery outside Express Mart on Dowlen around noon today—witnesses say the suspect wearing a face mask and black hoodie assaulted a passenger and took an envelope of money. - ➤ A Port Neches man named Joshua Sport was convicted by a jury on two counts of indecency with a child from separate acts at a church and a church event in 2021—he must serve consecutive sentences of 20 and 10 years and remains in custody until his transfer. FOX 4 Beaumont

- ➤ Beaumont Heritage Society is preparing the historic John Jay French House for a celebration on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the event will feature live reenactments, music, a historian's talk, and interactive demos that honor 180 years of local history while charging $5 for admission. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Beaumont City Council held a budget workshop on Thursday to review plans for a five-year community investment plan that will fund downtown projects like a new riverwalk, hotel to replace the old AT&T building, recreation center, park and pool upgrades, splash pad renovations, and a larger animal shelter (bonds may pay for some projects). City Manager Kenneth Williams said some work will carry over into next year and the council will meet again before the final budget is ready mid-August with a public hearing set for mid-September.
