- ➤ A Facebook post by David Lyons about an open door at the closed Casa Ole restaurant near Calder and Interstate 10 prompted police to secure the building yesterday around 7 p.m. and the owner’s representative said he nailed the door and will add a dirt barrier to keep people out + local business owners have expressed safety concerns. - ➤ After a crash on Monday when a driver failed to yield at the intersection of Fannett and Sarah Street, Beaumont paramedic Tiffany Woodland was treated at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital and first responders escorted her home Friday — she will be out of work for up to three months. KFDM
- ➤ Beaumont police are investigating a fatal crash on Cardinal Drive service road at Erie Street where an ATV did not yield at the stop sign and collided with a pickup truck—one rider died at the scene and a second with severe injuries was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston—prompting further investigation. - ➤ Beaumont police are asking for help identifying a child with disabilities found Friday evening around 5:30 p.m. near Margo and Thames — no calls have come in about a missing child and officers urge anyone with information to contact them. 12 News Now
- ➤ Beaumont police said a special needs child was found alone at 5:30 p.m. Friday near Margo and Thames and they are asking anyone with information on the child's family to call 4098321234—officers have not yet received any calls reporting a missing child. KFDM
- ➤ A 72-year-old man riding his bicycle died at Memorial Hermann Hospital after a hit-and-run driver struck him on Saturday, May 24 in the 1300 block of Avenue C — Beaumont police ask anyone with camera footage to help identify the dark-colored sedan with windshield damage. KFDM
- ➤ Two men—Keandre Marquis Robinson, sentenced to 405 months, and Larry Nathaniel Hagan, sentenced to 420 months—pleaded guilty to firearms violations for a December 29 robbery at a Gulf Street convenience store in Beaumont that led to the clerk’s fatal shooting. KFDM
- ➤ Two men, Keandre Marquis Robinson and Larry Nathaniel Hagan, were sentenced to over 30 years in federal prison for the robbery and fatal shooting of a Beaumont store clerk on December 29 at Kris Food Mart—Robinson shot the clerk after forcing him behind the counter—and police quickly identified Robinson using social media tips.
