- ➤ Texas faces fuel and power risks as hurricane season begins and experts warned that low inventories of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel could lead to outages along the Gulf Coast—raising concerns about supply disruptions. Analysts noted that a storm similar to Hurricane Harvey would cut refining capacity by 1.5 million barrels a day—prompting the Public Utility Commission to advise Texans to review their severe weather plans. - ➤ A Woodville man, Johnny Manuel Jacobo-Ramon, 35, was sentenced to 15 years for a fatal hit-and-run on College St that killed Herbert Wilson Jr., 58, in July 2023, and he was arrested in Kountze after fleeing the scene in a damaged Dodge Journey—his plea deal dismissed an additional intoxication manslaughter charge. 12 News Now
- ➤ Terry Rose, charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend Kimberly Langwell in 1999, was found competent to stand trial and given a new attorney on Monday morning after his previous counsel withdrew for unpaid fees—he will return to court in about seven weeks following a 45-day reset. 12 News Now

- ➤ Summer camp kids at the Jonathan Williams Center for the Performing Arts in Beaumont are preparing for a production of Annie and will perform two shows at Beaumont United High School (June 27th at 7:00 p.m. and June 28th at 5:00 p.m.) by the end of this month. - ➤ The Jonathan Williams Center for the Performing Arts is hosting its 8th summer camp where kids learn dialogue for a production of Annie. - ➤ On July 27, over 130 men received free prostate cancer and primary care screenings at the Lumberton Performing Arts Center, with meal boxes and raffle entries provided as part of Legacy Community Health's annual Back to School Festival.
