Beaumont police closed the 5000 block of Folsom Drive after a Saturday morning SWAT standoff at the Regency Apartments (5550 Folsom Dr.) when an individual barricaded themselves inside an apartment and residents were asked to shelter in place while others avoided the area.

Beaumont police said a Jefferson County grand jury indicted six people—including an 18-year-old suspect—for deadly conduct by discharging a firearm and unlawful possession after a May 5 shooting that injured several people as investigators found spent shell casings and evidence of multiple vehicles used in the incident.

A man accused of assaulting and threatening two women and pointing a gun at them barricaded himself in an apartment at Regency Place Apartments in west Beaumont — after hours of a SWAT standoff, he was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

KC Seafood received a lower score after inspectors found food stored in the bathroom—among other violations that need correction.
