ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A driver escaped from his 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 in Beaumont after a tire fire spread to the cab and one firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries—TxDOT urges motorists to avoid the area.  FOX 4 Beaumont
  • A driver escaped from his burning 18 wheeler after its tires caught fire and flames spread to the cab on Interstate 10 east past Washington Boulevard — one firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital as TxDOT warned drivers to avoid the area due to heavy traffic delays.  KFDM

CULTURE NEWS

  • On June 13th, The Beaumont Enterprise reporters won 39 Excellence in Media awards at the Press Club of Southeast Texas contest, outpacing local rivals 12NewsNow and The Examiner. The awards ceremony honored hundreds of winners from 559 entries+ it highlighted a wide range of journalistic excellence.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • The Texas Energy Museum in Beaumont is cataloguing nearly 3,000 artifacts—such as a mug from Pattillo Higgins of the Spindletop oil boom—and will soon display rotating exhibits that detail small items from the era while exploring changes in energy.   • New Day Deliverance Holiness Church began its 19th annual Summer Explosion 2025 Convocation on June 16th and will continue until June 20th—Bishop Eldridge Charlot leads nightly 7:30 p.m. services at 1310 Van Buren Avenue in Beaumont.  KFDM

  • Longtime West Brook tennis coach and teacher Pat Thomas died a few days ago, and he was known for his fun style and care for his students. Many former students and teachers shared memories and offered condolences to his family (his legacy lives on in those he inspired).  KFDM

  • The McFaddin-Ward House Museum will open its new exhibition — Three Cheers for the Home Team: A Sporting Summer with the McFaddins — to the public on Friday, June 20th. Communications and marketing manager Sarah Parker and Curator of Collections Victoria Tamez appeared on a noon show to discuss the project.  KFDM
