  • A 29-year-old man was arrested in Beaumont for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest after reports described him riding shirtless on a bike—officers said he later pointed his firearm at a woman at Chaisson Park and he is now held at Jefferson County jail.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • Beaumont police charged 47-year-old Ronald Speights with murder after he struck 46-year-old Browin Williams on the 1200 block of Corley Avenue at 7:45 a.m.—he then drove her to Baptist Hospital where she died and Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. ordered an autopsy.  FOX 4 Beaumont

EDUCATION NEWS

  • ExxonMobil graduated 30 high school students Friday from its 409 Energy Scholars Program— the largest class since the program began — at Lamar Institute of Technology. The two-week program allowed Beaumont Independent School District students to tour ExxonMobil facilities and explore energy career opportunities.  12 News Now

  • Beaumont drivers face recurring flooding on I-10 near Sam's Club when heavy rain fills the westbound lane and forces commuters to take feeder roads to avoid hydroplaning. TxDOT said flash flooding and the ongoing I-10 interchange project set to finish in 2026 are behind the drainage issues.  KFDM
