  • Starting June 30, 12News+ will add an extra hour to its live morning broadcast from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. to deliver local news, traffic, and weather updates — expanding the regular Daybreak schedule that airs from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays.  12 News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • A 59-year-old Beaumont man is wanted on alleged drug charges in a West End neighborhood after he was last seen on Bradford Drive, and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS or the sheriff's office at (409) 835-88411.  KFDM
  • Brian Lewis (51) was gunned down while mowing his lawn on Delaware Street, and his accused killer Larry Williams (held on a $10 million bond and facing trial next month) is in the Jefferson County Jail.  12 News Now
  • On June 19, deputies stopped a truck on Edson Drive and Fieldwood Lane in Beaumont and arrested two men—one aged 48 and one aged 61—after a police dog signaled drugs; a search of the truck found 0.7 ounces of suspected meth, 2.8 ounces of marijuana, 4 grams of suspected crack, 12 guns, and $6,473 believed to have been tied to narcotics sales.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • Beaumont police are asking for help in finding suspect Dashun Robertson, 40, wanted for aggravated assault with deadly weapon, and anyone with information should call BPD at (409) 832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS.  KFDM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Beaumont ISD board approved a new pay plan for the 2025-2026 school year that raises classroom teachers’ starting salary to $55,500 and gives a one-time stipend up to $1,000. The plan gives non-classroom staff a 4% raise and retention allotments of $2,500 or $5,000 for teachers based on experience — a change meant to keep good staff — and is effective immediately.  KFDM
  • Ignite Community School in Beaumont is expanding its personalized learning program by adding a seventh grade this fall and planning an eighth grade next year. The tuition-free charter school has revised its teaching approach to include daily lesson rehearsals and extra intervention days for students and is partnering with local groups to support families as it accepts applications for the upcoming school year.  Beaumont Enterprise

  • Payton Jones, a top guard from Silsbee who averaged nearly 25 points per game, has joined Beaumont United Timberwolves and will play next season. He has received scholarship offers from top college programs nationwide and will honor his late brother's legacy under coach David Green — a move that opens a new chapter in his basketball career.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • Lumberton's Tessa Christopherson was named the Super Gold Girls Soccer Player of the Year after scoring 22 goals and recording 14 assists to help lead her team to the Class 4A regional finals on June 24. Three Lumberton players were honored plus Vidor's Ralph Fields was named Coach of the Year after guiding his team to 21 wins.  Beaumont Enterprise
