- ➤ Beaumont Mayor Roy West declared June 26 as Babe Zaharias Day at Tuesday’s city council meeting to honor the Olympic track and field gold medalist and golf pioneer who began her career in our city—her legacy continues to inspire local athletes today. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ Country music superstar Tracy Byrd will headline the Go 4 The Bell 2025 Gala on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Beaumont Civic Center to raise funds for local families with children battling cancer. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and offer dinner, cocktails, silent and live auctions + live performances, including a set by The Jamie Talbert Band. 12 News Now

- ➤ During National Hernia Awareness Month, Dr. Kevin Dean, a general surgeon at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas—St. Elizabeth, became the patient when his fellow doctor Dr. Iumy Torres performed his hernia surgery. He said that staying at a normal weight and avoiding heavy lifting can help lower hernia risks. FOX 4 Beaumont
- ➤ Beaumont Public Health Services reported a concerning surge in COVID-19 found in wastewater samples taken from the city's treatment plant that processes 10-12 million gallons daily from June 2024 to June 2025. Public Health Director Kenneth Coleman said virus levels have spiked this month & residents should practice good hygiene and keep up with their COVID-19 vaccinations. FOX 4 Beaumont
