- ➤ St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church is hosting Vacation Bible School for all ages from Monday, July 7 through Thursday, July 10 with classes starting at 6:00 p.m. each night. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Four young people with Beaumont ties—three Kelly Catholic graduates and their friend—were reported missing after fast-moving flooding swept through Hunt early July 4th. Family members and rescue teams are searching near 1769 State Highway 39 while authorities have confirmed six flood-related deaths. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ A holiday fire destroyed a home at the intersection of Highway 327 and Highway 69 in Kountze at around 12:40 p.m., leaving a family homeless — the Silsbee Fire Department helped extinguish the flames while officials investigate the cause. KFDM
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Samuel Harmon was arrested after he stabbed a man outside America's Best Value Inn in Beaumont at 9:17 p.m. on July 3+ police said the victim remains hospitalized while Harmon caused property damage and attempted another attack before guests subdued him. Beaumont Enterprise
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On June 27, the Supreme Court ruled to limit federal judges from issuing nationwide orders in a case on birthright citizenship, raising alarm for immigrant families in Beaumont. The executive order will take effect on July 27 and may force parents to file costly legal challenges to secure their children’s right to citizenship — a burden for many local families. 12 News Now
