Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church after a July city council proclamation honored his legacy.

A Port Arthur mother said her voucher home faces ongoing sewage backups, flooding, and mildew nearly a year after moving in, prompting calls for accountability.
Local officials updated ordinances that will fine landlords up to $2,000 a day if repairs are not promptly made.

Texas health officials confirmed 48 cases of cyclosporiasis tied to contaminated fresh produce from 10 counties, though there are no cases reported in Southeast Texas yet.
They urge residents to wash raw produce + follow careful kitchen hygiene to help prevent infection.
