- ➤ Beaumont authorities are searching for 39-year-old Charles Levin, wanted for allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the face (the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has deemed him a violent offender), and they urge anyone with information to contact law enforcement immediately. KFDM
- ➤ A 2-year-old boy was critically injured in a hit-and-run on the 8000 block of College Street early Monday as he ran into the road while his mother was finishing work — law enforcement said the suspect vehicle was a black Chevrolet Tahoe and the investigation is ongoing. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ A Beaumont man who helped hand out missing person fliers during a 2022 search for a 14-year-old girl pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child and received a 50-year sentence in Criminal District Court on Thursday — police said he misled investigators during the search and had prior convictions. 12 News Now
- ➤ A trial is underway in Judge Raquel West’s courtroom as 67 year old Harry Lowenthal faces manslaughter charges for a fentanyl related death in west Jefferson County after he rejected a plea deal for 35 years while serving a 50 month sentence for a federal conviction — he could receive a life sentence if convicted. - ➤ The second annual I Am Woman event will be held on Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th at the Julie Rogers Theater for Performing Arts in Beaumont, and it is free but requires registration. Friday features a city-wide concert honoring families hurt by recent floods at 7 p.m. and Saturday offers sessions just for women—making the weekend one of inspiration and connection. KFDM

- ➤ Today, the Beaumont City Council will consider an ordinance amendment that will limit new game rooms with non-cash payout prize gaming machines to industrial zones—existing sites with valid permits will be exempt. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ The Beaumont City Council will consider a resolution Tuesday to expand the downtown hotel study by adding architectural firm services for Stonehenge Holdings LLC—this change will raise the fee from $275,000 to $450,000 and extend the deadline to Feb. 28, 2026. Beaumont Enterprise
- ➤ Today, the Beaumont City Council will consider issuing nearly $40 million in bonds to finance local repairs and to refinance older debt without a tax increase. The proposal includes $20.5 million in certificates of obligation bonds to pay for projects such as repairs at Collier’s Ferry Boat Ramp and upgrades at Beaumont Tennis Center and $19.455 million in revenue bonds aimed at saving at least 3% in debt service with funds expected by the end of August.
