Legendary attorney Gilbert (Buddy) Low died Tuesday at 93 after over 50 years serving Beaumont; family services begin Friday, July 17 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and his funeral is set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Geneva Methodist Church.

On Tuesday, July 14, heavy rain turned parts of MLK Parkway near Lamar University into shallow rivers — drivers navigated the flooded road to higher ground as larger trucks fared better.

Residents using blue recycling containers as extra trash cans must make new plans because the free service will end on Sept.
