  • Spice of the Season 2025 will host its Wild West event on July 25th at Doggett Ford Park where guests dress as cowboys, saloon girls & outlaws while supporting the Beaumont Chamber Foundation & its leadership programs. Director Chris Partin and Kym Johns from Plumbing Solutions discussed plans that will fund vital community programs.  FOX 4 Beaumont

CRIME NEWS

  • Beaumont police are investigating a death after a body was found in the garage of a vacant home on the 3100 block of Sabine Pass Avenue during a 5:15 p.m. call, and an autopsy has been ordered—details remain limited as investigators continue their work.  KFDM
  • Beaumont police arrested a suspect after chasing a reported stolen SUV that caused several minor wrecks on Washington Boulevard and Major Drive before crashing near the intersection of Highway 105 and Eastex Freeway—where the suspect hit his head and damaged both vehicles.  KFDM
  • 30-year-old Travon Alexander was indicted for murder after he fatally shot 33-year-old Joel Jenkins during a disturbance at a dominoes game on May 13th around 1:05 a.m. in north Beaumont—police said the incident left one man dead.  12 News Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • iRule Dance hosted its annual Princess Camp on Wednesday, July 16 in Beaumont where over a dozen girls dressed as princesses and enjoyed crafts, dancing and games — counselors read stories to the campers.  Beaumont Enterprise

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On July 15, a Beaumont police officer rescued an injured Great Horned owl from the middle of Park and Forsythe Streets downtown—animal care teams provided specialized treatment and plan to return it to the wild once it has healed.  Beaumont Enterprise

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Beaumont city officials approved a pipe bursting plan on Tuesday that lets city manager Kenneth Williams contract with King Solutions Services to repair broken water lines on Grand and Magnolia Avenues. The project will replace older, brittle pipes with high-density polyethylene pipes—designed to last up to 75 years—to help prevent future waterline issues.  KFDM
  • Deputies in Jefferson County completed an eight-hour autism training session to learn how to recognize stimming—repetitive movements common in autism that are sometimes mistaken for defiance or drug use. Constable Jevonne Pollard said the training builds trust with the community—an approach that may become required for all officers statewide.  12 News Now
  • The Beaumont City Council expanded a contract with Stonehenge Holdings to plan a downtown hotel and convention center and boosted the budget to $450,000—Council Member Cory Crenshaw secured an amendment to have voters decide before additional funds are spent, with the item set for the November ballot.  Beaumont Enterprise
