Local middle and high school students toured the Port of Beaumont recently to explore career opportunities and learn about port operations — including CPR training, fire truck ladder demonstrations and a police real-time center — which opened their eyes to new paths.

A homeowner’s property in Nederland was demolished after a zoning dispute over a church expansion ended in a mediated settlement.

The Apostolic Tabernacle of Texas has since barred access to the vacant lot at the site.

David Bernsen of The Bernsen Law Firm was honored by the State Bar of Texas for 50 years of legal service at a meeting held June 10–12 in Houston (attorneys licensed in 1976 were recognized).
