COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Beaumont Police Department hosted a Coffee with a Cop event at a local McDonald's on Euclid St. on Saturday morning, where community members enjoyed free coffee and conversation plus took photos with guest characters Grimace, Birdie, and the Hamburglar.  KFDM

CRIME NEWS

  • Beaumont police responded around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday when a person was assaulted at a business on Concord Road and sustained serious injuries before being transferred to a Houston hospital—authorities are investigating the incident.  KFDM
  • On July 14, a 2-year-old boy was hit by a driver who fled the scene, leaving him with a broken arm and fractured rib as his mother starts a GoFundMe page for his care and Beaumont police search for the suspect vehicle—said to be a black Chevrolet Tahoe—while he is treated in a Houston hospital.  KFDM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Beaumont city leaders are finalizing $179M bond proposals to fund four park projects, two facility projects, three infrastructure projects & two downtown projects that could add about a $10 monthly tax increase on the average home. The bond committee will meet on July 22 before the city council votes on placing these measures on the ballot by Aug. 18.  Beaumont Enterprise
