🎓 Education
Beaumont ISD superintendent Sandi Massey said state data shows only one school earned an A — while many campuses scored C, D, or F — prompting plans to boost early literacy and math via the Project Accelerate initiative for pre-K to second grade.
The district board approved new guardrails for school oversight.
Buna ISD will launch a new bus policy next month that assigns students one bus route and stop for improved safety.
Some parents and grandparents worry the change may limit last-minute pickups (district officials say they will work with families on individual transportation needs).

Beaumont City Council gave Jefferson House Apartments’ owner 10 days to fix raw sewage, standing water, and mosquitoes at the Delaware and Lucas location after tenant complaints.
If repairs are not made, officials say the city may condemn the property while working to help residents find housing + relocation support.
