On Sunday at 2:15 a.m., a Ford F-150 plunged into a water-filled sinkhole at Central Drive and East Drive and crews recovered the truck with a wrecker while working to close the hole as repairs continue.

Former Beaumont mayor Robin Mouton helped Live Oak officials secure a new Jason’s Deli that opened July 25 — a chain with roots in our community.
She connected current mayor Mary Dennis with key contacts, crediting her long-standing ties for the launch.

Beaumont ISD is urging families to complete online registration before Aug.
12 to avoid long lines as extra bus support and short informational videos on school policies are planned plus the district will pause its credit-by-exam process for accelerated learning.
