🚧 Accidents
A Good Samaritan and a Beaumont officer rescued a child from a burning vehicle in the 2100 block of South Major Drive at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug.
14 after a crash caused by a driver’s medical emergency — both the child and driver were taken to a local hospital.
🚨 Crime
Beaumont Animal Care officers found a severely emaciated mare on Pollard Street on Aug.
10 and determined euthanasia was needed; a second horse was seized and is under care pending a civil hearing (10 a.m. Aug. 20).
🎓 Education
Today, the Texas Education Agency released the 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings for public schools.
Beaumont ISD earned a 69/100 (D) as superintendent Sandi Massey works with her team to boost performance while other local districts saw improvements.
