- ➤ The DPS investigated a single-vehicle crash on Highway 124 near Bill Gaulding Road in Hamshire that caused a fatality when the Ford Explorer hit a tree and flipped over—Capt. Crystal Holmes warned drivers to avoid the area due to traffic delays. KFDM

- ➤ Sheriff Zena Stephens is urging the public to help locate Jorge Alberto Del Fierro Jr.—a fugitive accused of aggravated assault and family violence after choking a person he lived with. KFDM
- ➤ Edward Hoffman of Vidor faces charges for sending child sexual abuse material to an undercover detective in Montgomery County—nonprofit groups and local organizations in Beaumont are working with police to help young victims and pursue further leads. 12 News Now
- ➤ Jefferson County Sheriff Zena Stephens is asking the public to help locate Jorge Alberto Del Fierro Jr.—accused of choking a family member and committing aggravated assault in a case of family violence—to prevent any further harm in the community. FOX 4 Beaumont
- ➤ Marsel Brejon Davis, 33, was sentenced to two years and three months in federal prison on Aug 19 after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl — officers arrested him during a traffic stop and later searched his Pinchback Rd apartment where they found fentanyl, pressed pills, marijuana and firearms during an extensive investigation. 12 News Now

- ➤ Richard Perkins, the first Black opera singer from southeast Texas, died on August 9 after battling lung cancer. A wake is scheduled for this Friday at 6 p.m. at Wesley Methodist Church in Beaumont — funeral services will be held this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Arthur.
