Beaumont has approved a public art project that uses community-collected ribbons—transformed into a mosaic by artist Ines Alvidres—to honor local victims of the summer floods including Mary Grace Baker, Aiden Heartfield, Ella Cahill and Joyce Badon.

The city will collect ribbons at Rogers Park from Sept. 2 to Sept. 16 as project details are finalized.
