ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the 2900 block of First Avenue in Groves caused a total loss of a single-story home and displaced three residents, with firefighters from Groves, Nederland, and Port Neches responding and confirming no injuries—officials said the cause remains undetermined. 12 News Now
- ➤ A man died after being struck by a car on South MLK Parkway just before 9:30 p.m. Friday in Beaumont—police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Beaumont Enterprise
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Beaumont Public Health released inspection reports that showed most restaurants examined between (Aug. 11 and Aug. 23) scored in the 90s with many earning A grades while a few got a B or C grade. Inspectors cited maintenance and sanitation issues (such as rusted shelving and water-damaged ceiling tiles) that will be corrected soon. Beaumont Enterprise
