ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Beaumont police said a crash involving seven vehicles—including a tractor trailer—closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Washington Boulevard at about 4 a.m. Wednesday and one person with non-life threatening injuries was taken to a hospital while the lanes have since reopened and investigators are looking into the cause. - ➤ Beaumont police are investigating a shooting at 5015 Pine Street after a large disturbance—officers found one person with a gunshot wound who was taken to a hospital by private vehicle with minor injuries and no suspect has been named. 12 News Now
- ➤ Beaumont police investigated two shooting incidents reported Wednesday morning when a victim was shot at Pine Club Apartments at 5015 Pine Street and another person arrived by vehicle after a shooting near Dollar General at 2730 East Lucas—EMS transported both victims to a hospital as investigators worked to determine if the incidents were connected. - ➤ Beaumont City Council voted 4—3 on September 3rd to hire GAP Strategies for a $98,372 contract to educate voters on a bond issue. The contract covers tasks—messaging, direct mail, digital communications, open houses and media support—and the cost may be reimbursed if any part of the bond proposal passes. Beaumont Enterprise

- ➤ Alvin Brooks signed a three year extension to coach Lamar University’s men’s basketball team through the 2027-28 season—his new contract was announced on September 3. He improved the team’s win record each year since he was hired in 2021 and played at Lamar as a student. Beaumont Enterprise
