ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ First responders handled a motorcycle crash on U.S. 96 Bypass southbound near Silsbee Friday night at 7:45 p.m.—the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved and the bypass was closed to assist the accident scene. KFDM
- ➤ At 4:20 a.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 365 near U.S. Highway 90 in west Jefferson County, a Ford F-150 driver ran a red light and collided with an 18-wheeler—killing the pickup truck driver at the scene while the Texas Department of Public Safety investigates the collision and the 18-wheeler driver was not hurt. - ➤ A man serving nearly a 13-year federal sentence for armed robberies in southwest Louisiana was indicted in Beaumont for a violent crime spree in October that included an attempted carjacking, a shooting outside a hotel, another carjacking, and an attempted convenience store robbery—he is also accused of firing shots at officers during a later pursuit that ended in southwest Louisiana. - ➤ Beaumont police said a fight at a Delaware Street home led to gunfire and a traffic stop on U.S. 69 at 1:35 a.m., during which officers found both occupants had gunshot wounds—three people were taken to the hospital. Beaumont Enterprise

- ➤ Beaumont Comic Con will take place Oct. 18—Oct. 19 at Doggett Ford Park and feature pop culture events including a costume contest, vendor booths, interactive demos, and celebrity guest Vic Mignogna with photo opportunities on a Star Trek Enterprise bridge replica. Attendees will pay $12 for adults and $10 for children and enjoy activities like lightsaber battles and a Ghostbusters Academy experience during its seventh run. 12 News Now
- ➤ Southeast Texas Stages will present a musical version of Little Women — a classic story of a family facing hard times — from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4 at 4155 Laurel Ave in Beaumont with showtimes starting at 7:30 p.m. on the opening night and a matinee on Sept. 27. - ➤ A 2-year-old from Vidor — Evelynn Vonberg, who had three open heart surgeries and spent six months in a hospital — advanced to the quarter finals of Hasbro’s Toddler of the Year competition; she is in 15th place and must move to first by Sept. 11 to reach the semi finals. Her progress in the contest shows a strong spirit that inspires many in Southeast Texas. 12 News Now
