  • A 39-year-old motorcyclist, Dannis Jones, lost control of his speeding motorcycle on the 4700 block of Concord Road Saturday afternoon in Beaumont when he tried to brake on East Lucas Drive and was not wearing a helmet—he is in critical condition at a local hospital.  12 News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • 22-year-old Louisiana man Bracelon Armon Charles faces federal charges for a violent crime spree that began with an attempted carjacking in Beaumont where a vehicle's owner was shot—prosecutors say the spree also included a second carjacking in Port Arthur and an attempted convenience store robbery in Beaumont in October 2023.  12 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Beaumont Police Department honored the memory of Officer Conrad Gernale, who was killed in the line of duty on Sept 6, 2002 while responding to a family violence incident 23 years ago—he served for 12 years before his death. The suspect in that incident was later sentenced to life in prison with parole eligibility in 2033.  FOX 4 Beaumont

  • Lamar University's football team stunned No. 4 South Dakota on Saturday at Provost Umphrey Stadium with a 20-13 win that featured a late touchdown run by Joshua Robinson and several key defensive stops.
