🏘️ Community
Entergy crews reduced power outages in Jefferson County from over 300 to 120 by 10:25 p.m. during Tropical Storm Edouard, and over 1,000 workers are restoring power to the remaining customers later tonight.
After Tropical Storm Edouard hit last Tuesday, Entergy crews worked nonstop all week to restore power for nearly 80,000 customers in the Beaumont area (320 still lacked power as of 10 a.m. Monday) and expected final fixes by late Monday.
🌲 Environment
The East Roundbunch Swing Bridge remains closed indefinitely after storm damage rendered the structure unsafe — officials plan to inspect the bridge before repair work begins.
🏛️ Government
Beaumont City Council is reviewing a South End proposal for a community garden, orchard and outdoor classroom near the Southeast Texas Family Resource Center.
The council will decide soon if the green space can offer hands-on learning (a new urban hub) for local residents.
