- ➤ Beaumont is hosting a busy week of local events including a BBB Professional Women’s Conference on Thursday at Doggett Ford Park, a whiskey tasting on Thursday evening at Longhorn Liquor, a Tacos & Tequila Fest on Saturday, Sept 27 at Teddy Morse’s Cowboy Harley, and an Art of Mental Health workshop on Monday at The Art Studio. - ➤ Beaumont City Council is working with the City Manager and its three-person communications team to create a six-month plan after Council member Mike Williams raised concerns on Sept 8 about misleading messages and public trust. - ➤ The 84th Beaumont city golf tournament will take place on October 18 and 19 at Henry Homberg Golf Course with a $60 entry fee for 36-hole medal play and three divisions—championship, presidential and senior—with golfers needing an established handicap and the city champion to be a Beaumont resident, and Jordan Soper is expected to defend his title while Austin Williams may also compete. - ➤ QB Tam Anderson passed for 223 yards and four touchdowns as West Brook beat Silsbee 49-14 on Friday night in Beaumont while RB Mason Manning rushed for 138 yards and four touchdowns in Orangefield's win over St. Louis Catholic on Thursday night.
