- ➤ Winter, a playful four-month-old puppy mix weighing 25 pounds and expected to grow to 70 pounds, is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Southeast Texas in Beaumont—he is now play yard eligible with all vaccinations. The shelter operates at manageable capacity and holds intakes on Tuesdays and Fridays while requiring a completed adoption application. 12 News Now

- ➤ A chain-reaction crash nearly two weeks ago hospitalized five Southeast Texans after an 18-wheeler hit an SUV that veered into a group of motorcycle riders returning from a ride. Local leaders from Beaumont Hard Riders urge drivers and riders to check blind spots and maintain their bikes to help prevent similar accidents — safety is a shared duty. 12 News Now
