- ➤ Melissa Jackson and Hattie Harmason are challenging blindness stereotypes in Southeast Texas by sharing their stories & organizing White Cane Walks during Blindness Awareness Month. Two walks are set for Saturday—one at 10 a.m. inside Parkdale Mall in Beaumont and another at 3 p.m. on Procter Street in Port Arthur. 12 News Now
- ➤ The Art Museum of Southeast Texas invites families to attend its free Family Arts Day event on Saturday, October 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—Bill Clark Pest Control will serve edible bugs as a fun twist. FOX 4 Beaumont
- ➤ VFW Auxiliary & Blue Star Mothers of America Jefferson County will host Operation Freedom Harvest Market and Car Show on October 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 511 Grigsby Ave in Port Neches to raise funds for veteran and active duty support while featuring multiple vendors, live music, and displays from local agencies; vendors can still sign up and car show participants are urged to pre-register. 12 News Now
