- ➤ Today in Southeast Texas, Taco Talk Tuesday welcomes veterans and their families at 4580 College St from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Later this week, residents can join events such as a Warrior Walk on Oct 22 at Folsom Hiking and Bike Trail, Classic Movie Night watch parties at the Jefferson Theatre, a free bingo night at Madison’s Bar and Grill on Wednesday at 7 p.m., a charity pickleball tournament starting Oct 24 at the Municipal Tennis Center, a networking Mix and Mingle on Thursday at Stewart Title, and a historic blacksmith demonstration on Oct 23 at Spindletop Boomtown Museum — each offering a unique way to connect with the community. - ➤ Urban Roots Garden will host its first ever Farm to Fork Farmer’s Market this Saturday, October 25 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 2840 Glenwood Avenue, where local vendors and gardening demonstrations will offer free family fun—donations will benefit the Sickle Cell Foundation and local youth programs. - ➤ On Saturday, October 18, more than 600 people gathered at Rogers Park for a peaceful No Kings protest led by SETX Impact Initiative as part of a nationwide demonstration against current policies—local officials confirmed the event lasted two hours with calm interactions despite a few counter-protesters.
